As part of our ongoing partnership with the London Borough of Enfield we’re opening our doors once again and offering FREE ENTRY to residents of Enfield to Capel Manor Gardens. Simply bring with you a utility bill or item with proof of address, and 30 acres of Capel’s colourful and scented gardens are yours to explore for FREE! Plus it’s also the College Open Day, a prefect opportunity to see our courses in action with displays and demonstrations, and you can meet our new resident Meerkats!

AGED 16-18? MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR FREE EDUCATION £££
Did you know that if you’re aged 16–18 years old you don’t pay for any tuition or exam fees? What you might not know is that if you have already completed your A levels you are still entitled to another free year’s education on a full-time course or apprenticeship, as long as you are still aged 18 on 31 August 2012. Don’t miss out!

Why not kick start your career with an Apprenticeship? Gain real work experience and train at the same time. Apprenticeships are a different way of obtaining nationally recognised vocational qualifications, open to anyone 16 and above who does not have a degree and is employed within the industry. We offer apprenticeships in: Horticulture, Trees & Timber (Arboriculture), Animal Care, Environmental Conservation and Sports Turf.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIPS IN ANIMAL CARE
We are pleased to be offering these new apprenticeships including in partnership with the Zoological Society London. We are offering intermediate (level 2) and advanced (level 3) programmes, perfect for anyone wishing to work with animals. You could find yourself working in many settings and with a range of different animals, grooming dogs; in a pet shop, kennel or cattery; breeding pedigree animals; training guide dogs; or working at London Zoo.

CALLING ALL EMPLOYERS! ACCESS TO FUNDING FOR APPRENTICESHIPS
The National Apprenticeship Service is currently running a scheme designed to help small and medium businesses meet the costs of having an apprentice with a £1,500 grant. It applies to employers of 16 to 24-year-olds. To be eligible, employers must not have employed an apprentice in the previous three years.
