Michael Fitt is a Local Community Representative nominated by the London Parks and Green Spaces Forum, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Steering Group. He is the former Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Parks for the Royal Parks.
His working life has been spent in parks and estate management, enabling him to develop a broad range of experience in the philosophy and practical aspects of managing public parks and open spaces. His is a council member of the London Parks and Gardens trust, a Fellow of the Institute of Horticulture, a member of the Chartered Management Institute and Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners.
He also has a personal interest in community engagement and outreach to those with special needs. He is a vice President of PHAB (charity for disabled) and a Patron of The Holly Lodge Centre (an Environmental Centre for those less able). He is a keen supporter of schemes aimed at beautifying our cities and acts as a judge for London In Bloom, The London Garden Society and the Green Flag award scheme. |
