This
course provides a comprehensive introduction into the world of Modern
Retail Floristry. Candidates are shown a variety of basic skills
and techniques which enables them to construct a vast range of designs
- from different styles of tied designs, wedding work using a variety
of methods, funeral work and a host of arrangements often used in
the Florist Industry. Display and retailing skills.

Course
A one year programme at Capel Manor to include Level 2 National
Certificate in Floristry and City & Guilds 7822-36 Balloon Display.
Attendance days at College are: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.This
course leads to the Advanced National Certificate in Floristry Level
3.

Practical activity
Attainment for the Floristry award is through set assignments, practical
assessments and an externally set multiple-choice exam.
Candidates
can benefit from fair and reliable assessment by trained and qualified
assessors within our growing Floristry Section. Candidates will
be required to participate in work experience and keep a logbook
of their shop activities.
Attainment of the Balloon Artistry qualification is through continual
assessment and the production of a folder of work.
Course
Requirements
Flowers, foliage, balloons and sundries are included
in the course fee. All candidates are required to provide their
own floristry and balloon artistry tools and wear suitable clothing.
You will need to take photographs of your work, therefore the cost
of film and developing must be considered.
Qualifications
Gained
Success in this programme leads to nationally recognised
City & Guilds Level 2 National Certificate in Floristry and
City & Guilds 7722 and 7822-36 in Balloon Display. Successful
candidates therefore have a sound understanding of the Florist and
Balloon Artistry Industries.
Entry
Requirements
You will be required to visit the College for a personal
interview with a course tutor to identify a study programme which
will help towards your intended career. All candidates are assessed
on an individual basis. A minimum of 4 GCSE at grade D or above. A genuine interest in Floristry and Balloon Artistry, together with a good command of English

Floristry workrooms and floristry training shop.
Venue
This course takes place at Capel Manor's main site
in Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield or at Gunnersbury Park, Popes Lane, Acton,
West London, at
the Castle Green Centre in Barking.
