1 - Extended Syllabus
The
Course
A one
day a week course of 2 year's duration.
There is no end of year examination, candidates are continually
assessed to allow them to demonstrate competency.

2 - Advanced Syllabus Year 1
30 weeks
- History
of flower arranging periods pre 1500 AD
- History
of flower arranging periods 1500 - 1750
- Introduction
to world influences
- Learn
how to propagate plants by vegetative means
- Understand
the reasons for pruning shrubs and roses
- Recognise
major plant nutrients
- Produce
a portfolio on plant forms
- Understand
basic requirements for plant development
- Understand
requirements for organising a competitive floral art show
Module 2 - Advanced Syllabus Year 2
30 weeks
- History
of flower arranging 1750 - 1930
- World
influences and effects on British traditional style
- Understand
the requirements for an abstract design
- Examine
the requirements for interior and exterior design on a large scale
- Understand
requirements for both hard and soft landscaping
Course
Requirements
Flowers, foliage, containers and mechanics to
be supplied by the student. Students are also required to provide
flower arrangement equipment and wear suitable clothing.

Gained
NOCN Module 2 NAFAS Floral Art and Design Award.
Entry
Requirements
Successful completion of the NAFAS Module 1 - Floral
Art and Design.
Facilities
Floristry/flower arranging workrooms.
Viewing of extensive gardens.
Floristry and flower arranging training shop.
Venue
This course takes place at Capel Manor's main site
in Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield.
