The
Course
This is
an exciting two-year vocational course that aims to equip students
with the skills and knowledge to start out as practising garden designers.
It combines a solid knowledge base in landscape and horticultural
practices with art and design studies. The broad range of topics covered
on the course is intended to open up wider career prospects in the
landscape industry and related professions.
At the end of the two years, students will have the opportunity of
progressing on to an honours degree (BSc).

Assessment
The units making up this course are generally assessed through coursework,
with just a few end of unit exams.
Entry
Requirements
UCAS Tariff: 120 points including one subject at
A-level (6 units) Biology or an art/design subject.
An appropriate BTEC National Award/Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
qualifications will be considered.
Applications from mature students (including those with non-traditional
entry profiles) are welcome.
Course
Costs
In addition to
course fees students will be encouraged to purchase drawing equipment
and a drawing board. These can both be obtained at a competitive
price through College for approximately £180.00 in total.
Students will also require steel-capped boots and a good pair of
secateurs, also available through College.
All
applicants will be invited in for an interview when there will be
an opportunity to discuss the course in detail with the HE Garden
Design Course Manager.
