The
Course
This 12
week course is aimed at people who are already trained as garden
designers and wish to introduce the use of Computer Aided Drawing
(CAD) into their design practice. At the end of the course participants
will be able to use CAD to prepare Presentation Plans, Planting
Plans, Surveys and Construction Drawings.
The
course is based on 'hands on' learning at the computer, using structured
worksheets and projects to build up the participant's expertise.
Within 4 - 5 sessions a simple garden design will be produced. The
latter part of the course introduces more advanced drawing techniques,
during which participants will have the opportunity to work on their
own design projects. A short introduction to creating 3D images
will also be included.
The
course uses the Vectorworks Landscape software package (previously
known as mini-CAD) which is acknowledged within the garden design
profession as being a user-friendly, low cost option for entry into
CAD, with the capability of meeting the requirements of most garden
design practices.
