The
Course
The course runs for one year from September to June and students
attend for one evening each week. A wide range of topics and lectures
are supported with slides, workshops, videos, studio sessions and
garden walks.
The Introduction Course has been specially written to equip students
with the skills and knowledge required to undertake a course in
the specialist area of Garden Design or Planting Design.
It is a hybrid course and will focus on horticulture and plant knowledge
as well as drawing and graphics, giving students the skills, knowledge
and confidence to move on to a higher level course in an area of
garden design.

Assessment

in order to be successful on the course.
These assessments will prepare students for their progression on
to the OCN Garden Design or Planting Design evening courses.
Students
need to allow up to 5 hours per week for coursework which is completed
at home.
Entry
Requirements
Students should normally have achieved 4 GCSE's at
Grade C. Alternative qualifications and relevant work experience
will be considered. A keen interest in horticultural and design
issues would be an advantage, as would a home computer and some
experience of word processing.
You
are welcome to make an appointment with one of the relevant tutors
at the College to discuss the course.
