This course
of study is the natural progression for those who have completed
all four modules of the RHS Advanced Certificate in Horticulture.
It equips students with a knowledge and understanding of the scientific
principles on which the practice of horticulture is based and a
range of practical skills in horticultural practices.

Course
The course is offered one day per week for one year.
Course
Content
The course is composed of four modules. The modules are:
Module F
Environment and Ecology
Resource Management
Module G
Genetics, Plant Breeding and Systematic Botany
Plant Physiology
Module H
Practical Horticulture
Module I
Planning Layout and Construction of Ornamental Gardens
Restoring Established Ornamental Gardens
Assessment
Modules F and G will each be assessed as a two hour written exam
at Capel Manor each February and July.
Module H will be assessed by a six hour practical exam at a regional centre each July.
Qualifications
Gained
Successful completion of all four modules (in addition
to the four modules constituting the RHS Advanced Certificate) leads
to the RHS Diploma in Horticulture.
Entry
Requirements
Candidates wishing to join the RHS Diploma course
must first complete the RHS Advanced Certificate in Horticulture
course modules.
Venue
This course will take place at Capel Manors main site
at Bullsmoor Lane, Enfield, Middlesex and at Gunnersbury Park,
Popes Lane, Acton, West London.
