Capel Manor College is Greater London's only specialist College of Horticulture and Countryside Studies with gardens fully open to the public. Capel Manor has been providing programmes for schools for over thirty years as one element of our mission:
to promote the understanding of plants, flowers and animals for career, business and leisure purposes.
What schools can expect from us:
- Well-structured outdoor education programmes with a biogeography theme providing a focus for learning within the whole curriculum; from nursery to A Level.

Tailored to the teacher’s needs, for example whether they need help with plant life, animal life or ecological surveys these can be carried out at Capel Manor, the farm, or river surveys all offering a ‘hands-on’ approach to bring teaching to life.

Ensure that children are suitably dressed to enable outdoor work in the prevailing weather conditions.

Provide adult supervision for visits on a ratio of 1 adult to 10 primary school children.

Provide both male and female adult supervision for mixed sex groups of children.

Recognise that we are a working college. Activities offered may be subject to change over the year to avoid disruption to students.
