From
Freddie Mercury's "We are the champions" with Queen
Tribute Band, Killer Queen, through to the final song of the
four day festival "Land of Hope and Glory" with
Opus One Big Band, up to 2000 people enjoyed the most successful
programme of concerts to be held at Capel Manor.
The
festival started with a celebration of Classical and Popular
music by the Enfield Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Then along came Freddie Mercury and Killer Queen with a stunning
set of songs spanning all of Queen's recording career. A supporting
act of a DJ doing Ray Orbison impressions finished a fantastic
concert with the marquee just about keeping on the ground.
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davies Jnr, with a little
help from the Opus One Big Band gave us a fantastic 'Rat Pack
Cabaret.'
"When
they sounded the last All Clear" brought the curtain
down with all the music from the 1940s.
People are already asking about next year's concerts and Capel's
Events Organiser, Julie Ryan says that the 2006 Programme
will be announced on the website later this year.
She advised concert - goers to book early as most of the 2005
shows were sold out.
Rock on 2006... We'll meet again!
