Capel Manor College at Crystal Palace
Our base at Crystal Palace Park - in a small suite of rooms in the Jubilee Stand and on a practicalplot within the park - opened for Horticulture students in September 2006.
We secured planning permission for use of the vacant farm as a base for animal care training for 2007-2008 onwards. The farm opened for business, and for public visitors, in Spring 2008. It is already a popular local attraction.
The full-time Animal Care courses are particularly suitable for 16-18 year olds but older applicants are considered. Horticulture programmes are for all ages. In addition, we work in partnership with local schools to offer opportunities to 14 and 15 year olds for practical tasters and training in both Horticulture and Animal Care alongside their school-based GCSE programmes.
