The Course
A one year intensive progression course at Capel Manor for candidates who have successfully achieved NC Level 2 in Floristry, NVQ Level 2 Floristry, or equivalent. This course is held on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Course Content
Units
Unit 1: Diverse flower and plant care
Unit 2: Creative design process for florists
Unit 3: Diverse tied floral designs
Unit 4: Diverse floral designs for weddings and formal occasions
Unit 5: Assembly of diverse floral arrangements
Unit 6: Assembly of diverse sympathy tributes
Unit 7: Working in the floristry industry
Unit 8: Process, cost, and evaluate diverse designs
Unit 9: Function and event decoration using floral displays
Course Requirements
Please note work experience is a necessary part of the course. Flowers, foliage, sundries and mechanics are included in the course fee. All candidates are expected to provide their floristry tools, wires and tapes for the course. You will need to provide photographic evidence of your work for your portfolio, therefore the cost of this must be considered.
Qualification Gained
To gain the Level 3 Advanced National Certificate in Floristry award, candidates must achieve all assessments for all 9 units, including the short answer written paper.
Entry Requirements
You are welcome to visit the College for a personal interview with a course tutor to identify a study programme which will help towards your intended career. All candidates are assessed on an individual basis, but the normal entry requirements are successful attainment of NC Level 2 in Floristry, NVQ Level 2 Floristry, or equivalent. Candidates are invited to an advisory interview at the College. Successful completion of the course will require a good command of both written and spoken English. Four GCSEs at C or above or the equivalent are desirable.

Unless stated otherwise, students aged 16-18 are exempt from tuition and registration fees
