Summer School
The Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) National Practical Certificate Level 1 Summer Schools will this year be held at Capel Manor College, Middlesex on August 18-29.
The Certificate is the ideal induction training scheme for unskilled and trainee grounds care participants, and involves six practical tasks and a multi-choice answer paper.
The practical aspects are:
- Soil cultivations
- Turf establishment using turves and seed
- Maintaining, starting and stopping a small engine
- Surface renovation, and
- Mowing amenity turf
Progression from the course leads to either the Introductory Diploma in Horticulture Level 1 or the First Diploma in Horticulture Level 2.
